Clemens Schick

After a longer stay in an ecumenical monastery in Taizé with the intention of becoming a monk, Clemens Schick first studied acting at the Academy for Performing Arts (AdK) in Ulm, before moving to the Berlin School of Drama in 1993. After drama school in 1996, theatre engagements at renowned playhouses followed, among many others at the Staatstheater Dresden, at the acting house Frankfurt, the acting house Vienna, the acting house Hamburg, the acting house Zurich, the acting house Stuttgart and on the acting stage Berlin. Just a few months later, the Tübingen-born actor played the bald bodyguard Kratt as a henchman of the villain Le Chiffre in the James Bond film “Casino Royale” and is now known to a large and international audience with this role.

A small appearance that had an impact and brought him international attention and a breakthrough, because Clemens Schick belongs to the type of actor who leaves a lasting impression on the audience. Since then, the actor has shone in front of the camera at home and abroad in films such as the feature film “Praia do Futuro” by Karim Ainouz, “Largo Winch” by Jérôme Salle, a large-scale French production or in “Flight of the Storks” by Jan Kounen. Award-winning films followed such as “The dark valley”, “Es war einmal Indianerland” as well as the well-known art house film “4 Könige”, in which Clemens Schick played a youth psychiatrist. Other films by the versatile actor include “Point Break” by Ericson Core, “Stille Reserven” by Valentin Hitz. Since 2017 he has been investigating as Xavi Bonet together with fellow actor Anne Schäfer in “Barcelona Crime” for the ARD under the direction of Isabell Šuba. The thriller “Kidnapping Stella” followed in 2019, the first German Netflix original film with him in the lead role. The film was able to attract a large international audience in a short period of time and has now paved the way for further German Netflix originals. In 2020 you can see Clemens Schick in the international series “Arctic Circle” (including ZDF) and in “Sergio” (Netflix). Starting in April, he shines as the submarine commander Johannes von Reinhartz in the second season of the successful SKY series “Das Boot”. In addition to acting, Clemens Schick is also a voiceover for audio books.
