closePrint Press TextLuise Berndt, born in Berlin in 1983, completed drama school at the Filmuniversität Potsdam-Babelsberg in 2007. She received the First Steps Award in 2007 for her performance in the cinema film ‘Jagdhunde’ (directed by Ann-Kristin Reyels). Other films with Luise Berndt include Andreas Morell’s ‘Unschuld’, Nicole Weegmann’s ‘Ihr könnt euch niemals sicher sein’ – which received the 3sat viewers’ award in 2008 and, in 2009, the Grimme Prize in the category Fiction – and roles in various episodes in series including ‘Der Alte’, ‘Commissario Laurenti – Der Tod wirft lange Schatten’ and ‘Tatort Köln – Auskreuzung’. Frank Castorf discovered Luise Berndt for the Volksbühne in 2007 where she has continued to perform on stage in addition to her film work since then – most recently in 2012 in the play ‘Kean’. In 2010 the actress performed in the cinema film ‘Unten Mitte Kinn’, directed by Nicolas Wackerbarth, for which she was nominated Best Actress for the ‘Förderpreis Deutscher Film’ award in 2011. She had one of the main roles in 2013 in the cinema film ‘Nordstrand’ directed by Florian Eichinger and had great success with the cinema film ‘Die Wolken von Sils Maria’ (directed by Olivier Assayas) that was awarded the Louis Delluc Prize and a César. Luise Berndt can also be found on television, for example in the Stuttgart ‘Tatort’ – ‘Eine Frage des Gewissens’ (2014).
